2020年1月15日～3月8日の間、東京国立博物館において、日本の国の成り立ちや古代世界に迫る特別展「出雲と大和」を奈良県と共同開催します。
この特別展に、銅鐸・銅剣など多くの重要展示品を搬出することから、この期間を捉え、施設・設備の不具合の解消に併せて、館の魅力向上を図る改修工事を行う予定としました。
このため、下記の期間は休館とし、館内への入館はできなくなります。
ただし、2020年正月期間は、館内〔無料ゾーン〕の一部を開放する予定です。
御不便をおかけいたしますが、何とぞ御理解いただきますようお願いいたします。


From January 15th to March 8th, 2020, a special exhibition “Izumo and Yamato” that approaches the origins of Japan and the ancient world will be jointly hold with Nara prefecture at the Tokyo National Museum.

Since many important exhibits such as bronze caskets and bronze swords will be carry out, we have refurbishment construction to improve the attractiveness of the museum as well as resolve defects in facilities and equipment during this period.

For this reason, it will be closed during the period and you will not be able to enter the museum.

However, a part of the [Free Zone] will be opened during the New Year period, 2020.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your cooperation.
